Using the TCN standard Word template

When you open Word in Citrix you will find that it opens with a standard TCN template, you will see the stamp in the top right corner of the document.
This template is setup to use for all your TCN and Project documents.

 

Document setup

The standard template is preset for double sided printing, if you don’t want that you can easily set it to single sided printing:

  • Select the Page Layout tab.
     
  • Click on Margins in the Page Setup group and select Custom Margins.
     
  • On the dialog window on the Margins tab; select Normal in the dropdown box next to Multiple pages.
     
  • Select the Layout tab and uncheck the option Different odd and even under Headers and footers.
     
  • Make sure that the Apply to option is set to Whole document.
     
  • Click on OK.

 

Theme Colors

The standard template colors are set for corporate blue; you can change this to match your project colors as follows:

  • Select the Home tab and click on Change Styles in the Styles group.
     
  • Select Colors  and select the required theme color from the Custom list.

    Note:  Use TCN gray for internal documents.

 

All color pallets now have the theme color of your project. Also all styles have the correct color, more on this later.

The color pallets have 10 theme colors, in order form left to right these are:
 

1. White Standard.
2. Black Standard.
3. Main bar Black for corporate and colored for projects.
4. Sub bar Blue or gray for corporate and black for projects.
5. Main color Use this color for objects or text that you want to have your project color.
  Note: 
Do not use the main bar or sub bar colors, these will switch from color to black or vice versa when you switch form a corporate theme to a project theme or vice versa.
6. 40% of Main bar Black for corporate and colored for projects.
7. 40% of Sub bar Blue or gray for corporate and black for projects.
8. Red Standard.
9. Yellow Standard.
10. Green Standard.

Tip: You can switch theme colors at any time, all objects or texts will change to the new theme color.

 

Stamps

The stamp will automatically change color when you select a different theme color.

You can give the stamp a different color if needed:

  • On the Insert tab click on Header in the Header & Footer group.
     
  • Select Edit Header and select the stamp image.
     
  • On the Home tab in the Paragraph group click on the arrow next to the Shading command.
     
  • Choose the desired color.

 

Styles

The standard template has a set of text styles that you can use, such as headers including the main and sub bars, bold text and bullets.

Headers

There are 4 different headers; the number indicates the level at witch it will appear in a contents table. A zero (0) will be excluded from a contents table.

Main bar left aligned.

Main bar left aligned.
Main bar right aligned.
    Tip: A main bar will automatically be placed at the top of a new page, so it is not necessary to enter a page break first.
2. Sub 0C
Sun 1C
Sub bar centered.
Sub bar centered.
3. Heading 3 Colored text
4. Heading 4 Black text.

 

You can select these headers on the Styles group on the Home tab.
You can select two more styles here:

  • Bold Color, Bold text in the project color.
     
  • Normal, Normal text, use this to reset the selected text to its normal setting.

 

TCN Paws and Numbering

You can select the TCN paws, as follows:

  • Select the Home tab
  • Click on Multilevel list in the Paragraph group.
     
  • Select tcn Paws under List Styles to create a bulleted list.
     
  • Or select tcn Numbering to create a numbered list.
